About me
It all began with a simple idea fueled by a deep passion. My name is Kashuna Watts, proud mother of an 8-year-old son. My journey into maternal health advocacy began with my own lived experiences. I breastfed my son for three years, a commitment that taught me both the beauty and the challenges of motherhood. During pregnancy, however, I faced serious complications, including preeclampsia and hyperemesis gravidarum—that deeply shaped my understanding of the gaps in maternal care. As the Mississippi Maternal & Paternal Wellness Support Center, we pride ourselves on personal attention and dedication to every detail. Our approach is rooted in quality and integrity, ensuring that everything we do reflects our commitment to excellence.
Childbirth education & support
Our childbirth education classes and support groups are family-centered, designed for moms, dads, couples, and even teens. We go beyond birth prep, covering pregnancy, labor, postpartum, breastfeeding, and family bonding. We actively involve fathers with Daddy Boot Camp, father-led groups, and new dad education. Our approach is hands-on and personalized, teaching comfort measures, breathing, labor-inducing techniques, and postpartum planning. We also teach warning signs in perinatal, paternal, and postpartum health, and empower families to advocate for themselves in medical settings.
